Terror group Al-Shabaab has claimed responsibility of the car bomb that killed a member of parliament at a Mogadishu district parking lot on April 20th.
In a statement, the terror group propaganda team announced that it had laced the vehicle with a bomb with the intention of assassinating Isaak Mohamed Riino.
Al-Shabaab further claimed that they assassinated the member of parliament who was with fourth other people in the car for political reasons.
Strategic Intelligence resources in Somalia reported that the bomb was attached to the vehicle and remotely detonated.
The bomb exploded in a street along Mogadishu’s Hamarweyne district as the member of parliament was being driven to the presidential palace.

Terrorism in East Africa, particularly in Somalia and Kenya has sharply increased in 2014.
There seems to be a decline in effective policing and preemption of threats by intelligence services.
In Kenya, hundreds have been killed in gun attacks, grenade attacks, and suicide bomber explosions.
Kenya has put in place measures to curb the sharp increase. One of the measures is profiling of facilities and people using these facilities suspected to be used to train and sponsor terror operatives.
Screening of illegal Somali and other nationalities in the country is also helping smoke out terror cells operating in the guise of refugees.
Kenya has managed to reduce the terror attacks rate significantly with no incident of terror reported in two weeks.
