Thousands are fleeing a gun battle between Central Africa Republic’s christian militia and Chad military which is escorting Muslims fleeing the war torn African nation.
Chad completed withdrawal of its armed forces deployed in the Central Africa Republic as part of United Nations peace force for Bangui.
Thousands have fled areas where the Chadian troops were ambushed by the CAR militia after the Chadian forces responded to the attack with heavy gun fire.
Chadian military was attacked by Christian militia at Boguila, a town 310 kilometers north of the capital Bangui as they escorted 540 Muslims to the northwestern town of Bossangoa to Gore in Chad.
Thousands of the Boguila villages fled the main village squares to the bushes as the Chadian forces deployed in the area and staged a retaliatory attack on the attackers.
Several Chad soldiers were injured and taken to an MSF facility in the Boguila area.
