At least 15 people were butchered and over 40 houses were razed to the ground following attacks by ISCAP in Ituri province over the weekend.
According to a village administrator, terrorists armed with machetes burst into the Kymata village at night where they killed with machetes 14 people, two people were injured and two children are missing, believed to have been kidnapped by the attackers who also set fire to the village.
In a second incident, in the locality of Mayuano, located 35km south of Mambasa, in the chiefdom of Babila Bakwanza attackers razed to the ground almost 40 houses and several vehicles. During this attack, a young man in his twenties was shot dead and amateur videos were widely shared on social media showing the horror of the attack.

Residents continue to suffer at the hands of ISCAP as well as other rebel groups that are active in the region. The residents have vehemently placed the blame on the lack of significant military presence despite the state of siege, allied forces as well as the UN peacekeepers
