Over 100 suspects are in police custody in Mombasa after the Kenya government intensified it’s anti- terrorism operation to the coastal region.
The operation is targeting terror suspects, human traffickers and terror financiers who have been operating in the country.
The operation targeted Changamwe and Nyali estates of Mombasa County.
No one was arrested at Mogadishu Estate in Nyali since most of the suspects fled when they received tip-offs.
The government deployed Anti-terrorism Police Unit, General Service Unit and regular police forces accompanied by immigration officers.
Police requested doors to houses be opened and all relevant identification documentation presented or provided to the immigration officials.
Those arrested had forged documents all none at all.
Most of those arrested were from Nairobi after they fled to Mombasa to escape the ongoing operation in Eastleigh area.
Those arrested and detained at police stations will be screened.
