Jubbaland forces killed seven al Shabaab terrorists and injured at least eight others in an operation backed by government troops in Lower Juba region in southern Somalia. The operation was conducted in areas within the vicinity of Jamame town in the region.
In an after-operation statement, military officials said that the offensives started in Koban village through Bangeni, Arare and Mana Mufo villages and there was stiff resistance from the militants where the said militants were killed. Among those killed was the al Shabaab commander in charge of the jihadists in the areas.
This is the second operation by the Jubbaland forces in as many days in the southern parts of the Horn of Africa nation which is a clear indication of the dedication of the troops and state administration to rid all areas of the al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorists.
