The British government renewed its advisory on any non-essential travel to Somalia by its citizens maintaining the Horn of Africa nation still remains volatile and a dangerous place to visit.
The British The Foreign Office warned the British citizens in an advisory Wednesday to leave and only travel to Hargeisa and Berbera when necessary.
The Foreign Office noted that the terrorist outfits (Al-Shabaab and ISIS) in Somalia are likely to try to carry out attacks in Somalia it has been witnessed recently where the group has perfected targeted assassinations besides kidnappings.
In capital Mogadishu, the city faces constant threat of terrorist attack and terrorists continue to plan attacks against westerners in the rest of Somalia including Somaliland,” the UK Foreign Office added.
UK called on citizens to seek consular services and support services in the British embassies in Kenya and Ethiopia since its embassy in Mogadishu does not provide consular services.
