The al Qaeda affiliate in Somalia, al Shabaab has claimed responsibility for a car bomb targeting a Somali lawmaker, the Lower House MP Abdukadir Arabow. At least 4 people were killed in the attack and six others injured.
The attack occurred Wednesday evening when an improvised car bomb exploded targeting multiple vehicles and newly opened restaurant at Hajji Pasto junction along the busy Makka Al-Mukarama street in Mogadishu.
Just hours before, five people had been injured when a car bomb went off on the outskirts of Mogadishu, including a civil engineer from Turkey supervising Aggoye-Mogadishu road construction.
