Two more Al-Shabaab terrorists surrendered to Somali forces on Saturday in southern region of Somalia.
Jubaland military officials received Gedi Mohamed Ali and Abdulaziz Mohamed in Afmadow town in the latest wave of defections that have hit the Al-Qaeda affiliated terror group.
The two who surrendered to the Jubaland security forces also handed over their two AK-47 automatic rifles and ammunition.
The duo who were paraded in Afmadow town regretted their action which had caused deaths and injuries to innocent people. They also cited mistreatment, lack of food, no pay, executions and stress as some of other reasons they opted to decamp from the terrorist group.
On Aug. 5, two Al-Shabaab terrorists surrendered to Somali forces in Dinsor town of southwest country’s Bay region while on July 10, another senior Al-Shabaab leader surrendered to the government forces in Lower Juba region in southern Somalia.
