Troops of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) have killed 64 Boko Haram terrorists and captured eight others after a fierce gun battle in the Lake Chad area. The terrorists were killed after over 300 of them attacked Darak in northern Cameroon.
The troops belonging to Sector 1 of the MNJTF killed the militants and destroyed at least three boats used to ferry the militants. According to Col. Timothy Antigha, MNJTF spokesman, 64 Boko Haram terrorists were killed while eight were captured and several wounded and weapons and ammunition recovered.
MNTJF has been working round the clock to repulse increasing attacks by the Boko Haram in the Lake Chad Basin nations following a trend that seems to suggest that the militant group has been stepping its attacks and village captures.
