Somali national forces (SNA) has killed at least four al Shabaab militants in Gedo region located in the country’s south. Somali forces unit 49 said army killed the fighters in an operation which took place in the outskirts of Bardhere town.
According to a military official in the region, At least four al-Shabaab fighters had been killed and several reportedly injured after the group clashes with Somali army in southern Somalia.
The altercation took place after the SNA launched attacks a continuation of the Ramadhan mop-up when soldiers raided bases al-Shabaab, prompting a brief gun battle between the sides prompting the al-Shabaab to flee from the area.
The SNA has vowed that the operations against the group will be continuous until areas under the control of al-Shabaab are liberated.
