Somali army forces confirmed to have arrested a senior Al-Shabaab commander in Lower Shabelle region, southern Somalia.
According to the Ministry of Information the identity of the arrested terror operative has not been disclosed but confirmed that he is being held for questioning.
At least four people were caught up in a firefight during the raid at Ugunji village in Lower Shabelle and were taken to receive medical treatment.
Open sources indicate that the four civilians failed to stop even after repeated warnings from the army soldiers.
