At least 11 Taliban terrorists were killed, 2 suicide bombing vests and a home-made Improvised Explosive Device (IED) successfully destroyed during operations of Afghan Special Forces and airstrike in northern Kunduz province of Afghanistan.
According to Afghan military sources, the Afghan Special Forces conducted a raid in Charah Darah district killing 11 Taliban terrorists and wounding 2 others.
During the operation, 2 suicide vests, 15 pressure plate IEDs, 100 pounds of homemade explosives and a small weapons cache were destroyed. A home-made IED was also destroyed by an air strike, the sources added.
Kunduz province is among the relatively volatile provinces in North of Afghanistan. Taliban terrorists are active in some of its remote districts and often conduct targeted attacks on government and security institutions.
The anti-government armed militant groups including Taliban have not commented regarding the operation.
