The Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab on Monday 25th February 2019 shot dead civilians in suburb of Mogadishu Somalia.Desperate to conduct an attack, Al-Shabaab fire shots at 11 Somali civilians who were cleaning the streets in Lafole suburb, Lower Shabelle region. Lafole is located about 20km west of capital Mogadishu.
According to Regional governor Mohamed Ibrahim Barre, six women and three men were killed by the militants; the other two workers were injured in the attack.
Al-Shabaab militants are against people to cleaning the streets because they use the garbage, trees and undergrowth to disguise their improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
Meanwhile, U.S. forces in Somalia reported carrying out four new strikes against Al-Shabaab in Lower Shabelle region. The U.S. Africa command (AFRICOM) reported that the strikes targeted Al-Shabaab facilities and checkpoints in Kunyo Barrow, Jannaale and Awdhegle.
