Ten (10) Al-Shabaab militants were on Wednesday 2rd January 2019 killed fresh U.S. airstrike conducted in the vicinity of Dheerow Sanle, about 150 km southwest of the capital Mogadishu Somalia.
According to a press release by U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), the air raid was conducted to stem down Al-Shabaab’s freedom of movement and to increase pressure on the terrorist network in the area.
The statement confirmed that 10 militants were killed and no civilians were killed or injured in the airstrike.
U.S. affirmed that it will continue to work with other partners in Somalia; AMISOM and Somali forces in effort to defeat and degrade the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab
This is the first operation conducted by the joint forces this year in Somalia.
