Latest military report from Somalia indicates that U.S.forces conducted two precision airstrikes targeting Al-Shabaab militants in vicinity of Gandarshe, Somalia.
According to U.S. Africa Command press release, U.S. Forces conducted the airstrikes on December 15, 2018 killing thirty four (34) militants and on December 16, 2018 killing twenty-eight (28) militants.
The U.S. forces in support of the Federal Government of Somalia conducted a total of six airstrikes in the 48 hours killing a total of62 Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab militants. According to AFRICOM, the airstrikes did not injure or kill any civilians.
So far this year, U.S. has conducted at least 40 precision airstrikes targeting Al-Shabaab havens in Somalia.
