The U.S. military forces in support of the Federal Government of Somalia continue to annihilate and degrade Al-Shabaab in the series of airstrikes conducted in Somalia.
In its fresh airstrike, U.S. hit an Al-Shabaab target in Basra vicinity, Middle Shabelle region of Somalia on December 8 killing 4 Al-Shabaab extremists and completely destroying a couple of the group’s assets.
According to a media release by US Africa Command (AFRICOM), the airstrike killed four terror militants and there was no report of civilian death or injuries.
The precision airstrike was conducted in coordination with and in support of the Federal Government of Somalia in its effort to degrade the Al-Qaeda branch in Somalia besides disrupting the group’s ability to plan future attacks in Somalia and neighbouring countries.
