At least nine militants were killed in separate clashes and airstrikes conducted in northern Kunduz and northeastern Badakhshan provinces of Afghanistan.
According to the 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan Military in the North, the clashes broke out between the security forces and the anti-government armed militants in Aqtapa area of Chahar Bolak district in northern Balkh province.
The source added that the air forces also carried out airstrikes in Kiran Majan district of northeastern Badakhshan province, leaving several militants dead and two others wounded.
A commander of the militants identified as Karimullah was also among those killed in the airstrikes.
The anti-government armed militants including Taliban group have not commented regarding the clashes and airstrikes.
