The Somali Islamist terror group Shabaab Mujahideen attacked and took control of a Somali National Army (SNA) base in Dif town in Gedo region of Somalia, midday of October 11th 2018.
Somali Army troops withdrew from the camp. The militants often takes brief control of camps and withdraws fearing counter attacks.
The Dif SNA camp is situated some 12 Kilometers from Kenya’s Diif area and frontier town. Kenya Army has moved infantry troops along the general area. Surveillance operations have been mounted.
