Afghan security forces have announced that at least 5 armed terrorists were killed in recent airstrikes across different parts of the country. According to the defense ministry, the operations were conducted in Kunar, Helmand, Baghlan, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Herat, Ghazni, Badakhshan, Urozgan, Nomroz, Paktia, Faryab, Khost, Sar-e-Pul and Logar provinces in a comprehensive sweep for the jihadi elements.
During the airstrikes especially targeting the Taliban terror camps used to house the terrorist, as well as train ‘believers’, were destroyed as well as a cache of high-power weapons. Farah province has been targeted in recent days seeing as four Taliban commanders were killed in drone strikes.
Afghanistan has been tightening the noose on the fight against terrorist organizations such as the Taliban and a recent threat matrix that shows ISIS increasing its presence in the country as they lose ground in both Iraq and Syria.
