Jubbaland forces killed eleven (11) Al-Shabaab fighters and destroyed two of their vehicles in a military raid targeting their base in Gedo, southern Somalia.
Jubbaland official confirmed on Tuesday 18th September 2018 that combined forces launched an attack on Al-Shabaab base in the outskirts of Beled-Hawo town after a tip-off that they were planning to launch attacks on the allied forces in the region.
During the raid, huge cache of weapons was recovered and technical vehicles belonging to Al-Shabaab fighters were destroyed. Five soldiers lost their lives and seven others were injured in the close quarter battle with the militants.
