August 28, 2018, Military Intelligence reports indicate that, a Russian male member of Harakat Shabaab Mujahideen (HSM) terrorists’ group has been killed in military operation carried out by Ugandan-army contingent battling Al-Shabaab under AMISOM mandate in Somalia.
The terror operative was killed alongside other Al-Shabaab combatants near Marka town, some 91 kilometers southwest of Mogadishu. Foreign fighters within Al-Shabaab ranks continue to be killed in military operations throughout Somalia regions. This is another successful counter-terrorism operation by Ugandan troops since it has preempted a possible attack by Al-Qaeda branch in Somalia, the Al-Shabaab.
The killed terror operative identified as Abdinazir Azerbaijan was among Houthis fighting Saudi-UAE coalition in Yemen.
