Somali police have received equipment donated by the United Kingdom’s police through the Somalia support. The equipment included a wide range of equipment among them; bulletproof vests, jackets and handcuffs.
The police commissioner of Somalia, Bashir Mohamed Abdi who received the donations from Abdi Akhiro, the chairman of Somali support association welcomed the generous of UK police.
The donated equipment will go a long way in increasing the Somali Police Forces’ capability to prevent and counter a wide range of crimes. During the handover ceremony, Somali police commissioner and the head of Somali support association discussed the challenges of the police to get the required equipment and the support of UK police to Somali police.
