Military reports from Somalia show that U.S. in forces in support of Somali Special Forces known as Danab raided Al-Shabab hideouts in several parts of Somalia.
U.S. commandos launched the joint military offensive against the Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab targets in Jamame town, about 60 kilometers away from the coastal town of Kismayo.
The operation was further carried out in outskirts of Jamame town, Kaba and Kabsuma where the joint forces destroyed Al-Shabaab camps and killed over dozen militants.
Confirming the operation, Somali military commander, Osma’il Sahardid stressed that the operation against Al-Shabaab in Lower Juba region of Somalia was a success.
“We have destroyed several militants’ camps in Lower Juba region, after our soldiers backed by U.S. forces carried out offensive against Al-Shabaab. Several militants felled in the operation”, he said.
