Three Islamist militants have been arrested by the Burkina Faso security forces and one other was arrested in operation in Ouagadougou.
Four officers were injured during the operation but are expected to make full recovery, according to the Force’s spokesman.
Burkinabe soldiers and police have come under repeated attack near the borders with Mali and Niger, where militant groups linked to al Qaeda and Islamic State cross the porous frontiers.
The statement said officers seized AK-47s, pistols, explosives and military clothing during the raid.
