Latest military intelligence report from Somalia indicate that US warplanes have carried out success air raids that targeted an Al-Shabaab base in Lower Shabelle region of southern Somalia.
Corresponding reports from locals and refenced by open sources indicate that warplanes believed were from US forces shelled a make-shift Al-Shabaab base on the Arbiska village.
The air raids were in support of AU troops who were conducting an operation in the area targeting the suspected Al-Shabaab hideouts. Unconfirmed number of militants killed in the joint operation.
The air shelling came hours after a car bomb attack on a Somali military convoy that left some Somali soldiers killed and innocent people wounded in Afgoye district, about 30 kilometers northwest of Mogadishu.
