A statement issued by the Nigerian Air Force on Saturday morning, said that its newly acquired Mi-35M helicopter gunships have effectively unleashed their firepower on Boko Haram terrorists in the ongoing Operation Thunder Strike in the North East.
The two war gunships successfully bombed the terrorists at a camp located at 9.7km South East of Bonne.
“An earlier Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance report had indicated the significant presence of terrorists in the camp, following which Mi-35M helicopter gunships were deployed to attack them on 15 May 2018,” spokesperson Olatokunbo Adesanya.
The rockets and cannon attacks were launched in rapid succession by the Mi-35 helicopter gunships.
The structures within the camp were engulfed in fire and all the terrorists within the camp were neutralized.
