At Least 15 Boko Haram terrorists were killed by the Nigerian army and 49 people were rescued in separate encounters between Boko Haram and troops in Southern Lake Chad Basin.
According to the spokesperson of the army’s operation in the North-east, 11 insurgents were killed in Gomaran village of Southern Lake Chad Basin.
Four others were killed while trying to escape an onslaught in north Borno.
The troops further engaged fleeing insurgents in Firgi and Moula, both in Bama and Dikwa council.
The operations also led the Nigerian forces to recover one single barrel gun, one Dane gun and a locally made weapon.
About 33 women and 16 children were rescued by troops from the insurgents.
