At least 300 hundred insurgents have been killed in the day-long attack in the western city of Farah.
About 2,000 Taliban insurgents stormed the city during the morning hours of Tuesday.Afghanistan government forces managed to push back the insurgents, securing the safety of the city.
The Taliban forces were assembled from Helmand, Herat,Ghor and Zabul provinces to launch a large-scale onslaught on the city.
The Afghan forces were prepared and managed to defend the city and crucial facilities like the Farah city hospital.
Security forces have announced that they will continue manning the city and launching operations to destroy the insurgents in the province.
