Troops from the Operation Lafiya Dole in Nigeria have rescued several hostages including an old man held captive by Boko Haram militants in the remote village of Gobora in Gwoza, Borno State.
During the advance to conduct the offensive at Gobara, the Counterinsurgency troops uncovered and successfully detonated three Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) buried by Boko Haram insurgents along the axis of advance at Damboa bridge and Fadakwe.
In the offensive, the gallant troops killed two insurgents and destroyed their camp, logistics and IED factory during the firefight. The troops also recovered 8 Dane guns, one G3 Magazine, one IED making device, one Unexploded Ordnance, three Toolboxes, three machetes, Length of electric cable and a Boko Haram flag.
