Somalia Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire, the Minister of Security and military officials toured several security checkpoints in the capital Mogadishu ahead of the holy month of Radaman.
The security tour that began in Villa Somalia through several districts to Daynile was aimed at ensuring residents of Mogadishu and its outskirts are kept safe while they fast.
According to Abukar Islow Duale, the Minister of Security the tour was a routine inspection of security operations in the capital.
In the past, Al-Qaeda (AQ) linked Al-Shabaab have warned that they will ramp up attacks during the holy month of Ramadan which is expected to begin this week.
In Kenya Police have also issued a warning to the general public to remain vigilant against terrorist attacks during Ramadan.
Last week African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) in support of Somali Army reiterated their commitment in ensuring they beef up security throughout the Ramadan period in the capital city, Mogadishu.
