Five militants affiliated with the IS of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group were killed after a US drone bombard their hideout in eastern Nangarhar province.
The provincial government media office confirmed that five ISIS commanders were killed in the strike.
According to local authorities, the airstrike was carried out by unmanned aerial vehicles, around Haska Mina district area.
The local authorities also confirmed that a commander of the terror is also among those killed in the airstrike.
A similar airstrike in Ali Khel area of Pacher Agam also left one ISIS militant dead.
More counter-terrorism operations are underway in restive parts of Nangarhar Province againt ISIS, Taliban and other militants.
Regular strikes have also been conducted by the US forces in Afghanistan to support ground forces in a bid to suppress terrorist groups in Nangarhar.
