Monday 23/4/2018, latest military reports from Somalia indicate that troops of the Somalia’s southern federal member state of Jubbaland clashed with Harakat Shabaab militants near the port city of Kismayo.
The fight broke out after the Al-Qaeda (AQ) linked militants tried to attack Jubbaland forces manning a checkpoint set on the outskirts of the port city.
The militants reportedly began military movements around areas near Bula-Gadud town which is largely controlled by the regional forces.
Al-Shabaab through their propaganda online websites said that it attacked Jubbaland soldiers manning checkpoint set up on the outskirts of the town.
Unconfirmed of Shabaab militants killed in the mid-day incident.
