The United States in collaboration with the Federal Government of Somalia has conducted airstrike near Mubaarak in Lower Shabelle region of Somalia. The airstrikes killed two terrorists, wounded three others as well as decommissioning a vehicle.
The airstrike was targeting a mobile cell of the al Shabaab in the area and are in line with the US’ pledge to provide the needed support to Somalia in the fight against the al Shabaab militants.
U.S airstrikes against Al-Shabaab militants have been stepped up since early last year when the administration of President Trump approved expansion of military operations in the Horn of Africa nation.
