Security forces from the European Union have been training soldiers from the Central African Republic (CAR) in a bid to help rebuild the national army. The training is also geared at ensuring that the nation is stabilized and has a reliable and adept military following years of conflict.
The program is relatively six months and includes arms training as well as tactical maneuvers after which the soldiers will be deployed to different parts of the country which is mostly controlled by rebels. The soldiers will be later be equipped with weapons from Russia.
The training will ensure that the gains made by the peacekeepers will be upheld seeing as the nation will have an active military.
