The newly appointed Puntland Police chief, Brigadier General Abdullahi Shire has called on strengthened security in order to combat the Islamists terrorists.
The police chief made the remarks during a consultative meeting with other top police chiefs. Brigadier Shire voiced concern over the deteriorating security and subsequent surge in terrorists’ attacks by ISIS linked militants and Al-Shabaab.
He also called on the authorities to beef up security by mobilizing 100 army soldiers to take the responsibility of the state capital, Garowe.
He expressed concern of the militants who escaped from a rehabilitation center in Garowe confirming four inmates have so far be arrested, three returned voluntarily while three remain on the run.
