KDF-Army troops on Wednesday killed three Al-Shabaab militants within the vast Boni forest. The forces also recovered 3 AK 47 rifles, 236 rounds of ammunition, bomb making materials, and personal items.
According to a statement by KDF Spokesman David Obonyo, another terrorist fighter was killed by an IED that exploded prematurely as he tried to plant it on Sarira-Kolbio road.
Obonyo confirmed that a group of terrorists ambushed KDF troops leading to the death of three terrorists in an intense gunfight.
“There were no casualties on the KDF side. The troops recovered 3 AK 47 rifles, 236 rounds of ammunition, bomb making materials, and personal items.”
Obonyo called on the residents around the expansive forest to provide information on any individual seeking treatment for gunshot wounds saying some terrorists managed to escape into the forest.
