Over 25 suspected Daesh terrorists were killed by US airstrikes in Afghanistan’s northern Jawzjan province bordering Turkmenistan. The airstrikes targeted the terrorists’ hideouts in the region as recent reports indicate a caliphate of ISIS is establishing in the country.
Officials said that of those killed include foreign fighters drawing nationalities from Uzbekistan, Chechnya as well as various Arab countries.
The strikes were carried out by Boeing B-52 Stratofortress, an American subsonic bomber aircraft. The campaign has been dubbed as “expansion of the U.S. air campaign to the North” by Nato. The bomber has also been used to hit the Taliban’s alleged poppy processing factories in Helmand province.
