Somalia National Army and AMISOM forces have repelled an overnight attack by the la Shabaab at Qoryoley in Lower Shabelle. According to sources on the ground, the militants attempted to attack a military outpost in the area but were met with resistance by the forces. At least three militants were killed and others arrested after the terrorists were defeated.
The commissioner of the region Ahmed Mayre Makaran said the suspects were arrested shortly after the operation in the area and was being held and interrogated. Preliminary reports say that he has confessed to belonging to the outlawed group and is offering valuable information to the security forces related to the al Shabaab plans in the area and beyond.
