The infighting among the Taliban and ISIS terrorists has spread to eastern Laghman province as reports indicate the two sides have suffered heavy casualties in the latest clashes.
According to the 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan army in the East, the latest clashes broke out in Khogyani district on Tuesday and spread to eastern Laghman province, leaving at least 20 dead or wounded.
The Silab Corps officials confirmed that at least six ISIS terrorists were killed and four others were wounded during the clashes in Pira Khel area of Khogyani.
The officials further added that eight Taliban combatants were also wounded during the same clashes.
According to the officials, the incident took place in the vicinity of Noorlam Sahib Valley of the district.
The anti-government armed militant groups including the Taliban and ISIS militants have not commented regarding the report so far.
