The son of former al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, Hamza bin Laden has called upon followers and believers to ‘rise in rebellion against the agents of Americans.’ In a speech released by the al-Qaida’s as-Sahab Media Foundation, he urged the al Qaeda followers to incite the masses as they wait for the preparations to complete for an uprising.
The speech was released shortly after the CIA released further details about the death of his father and as such his statement is seen as a timely call for action to the jihadists to revenge the killing of the father of terrorism.
Moreover, the release of the speech came just a few days after the CIA released a video of Hamza’s wedding as part of a massive trove of documents recovered during the 2011 raid in Pakistan that killed his father.
Prior to the speech and the picture from the CIA, the public had seen only photos of Hamza as a child. And as such, it is viewed as a move causing speculation on the resurgence of Al Qaeda seeing as ISIS has lost its hold in the majority of its strongholds.
