Latest military reports from Somalia indicate that Somali National Army (SNA) in a well-coordinated operation on Wednesday managed to capture several locations and freed civilian hostages from Al-Shabaab militants.
Reports indicate that, the military operation that was intelligence-led was conducted near Baidoa town and its environs in Bay region. Baidoa is the administrative capital of Southwest State in Somalia.
According to Sidow Ali, Chief of Goof-Gaduud Burey and referenced by Somali National News Agency, (SONNA) SNA’s 46 Division carried out the operation at War-gaduud Shanta about 35 kilometers to Baidoa town.
He added that the operation will continue until all areas under Al-Shabaab militants are liberated completely.
