Latest military reports from Afghanistan indicate that at least 30 Taliban combatants were killed and scores injured when their coordinated attacks were successfully repulsed by Afghan security forces in eastern Nuristan province.
The 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan National Army (ANA) forces in a statement announced that the Taliban combatants had launched a coordinated attack on the security posts in Nurgeram district late on Wednesday night.
The statement further added that at least 30 combatants were killed and 15 others were wounded during the Wednesday clashes.
According to Silab Corps, at least 4 militants were killed and 2 others were wounded during a separate clash in Kamdish district.
Humiliated anti-government armed combatant groups including the Taliban insurgents have not commented regarding the reports so far.
Nuristan is among the relatively volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed combatants are actively operating in a number of its remote districts and often carry out insurgency activities.
