Nearly seventy (70) Taliban terrorists were killed and scores reportedly injured during airstrikes and ground military operations in southern Helmand province.
According to the local government officials, the operations were conducted late on Sunday night in the vicinity of Nad-e-Ali district.
At least 42 Taliban terrorists were killed and 27 others injured during the operations conducted in three different areas of the district according to the provincial government media office.
The statement further added that the operations were conducted by the Afghan Special Forces and with the support of the foreign troops who were providing air support.
In another raid, four senior leaders of the Taliban group identified as Haji Ahmad, Faizi, Saqib, and Haqbin were among those killed, the provincial government said, adding that four vehicles, eighteen motorcycles, two heavy machine guns, and several other types of weapons and ammunitions were also destroyed during the operations.
Separately, at least twelve Taliban terrorists were killed in a separate operation of the Afghan forces in Bolan area of Lashkargah, the provincial capital of Helmand province and a key commander of the Taliban group arrested in capital Kabul by the Afghan security forces.
