Tuesday at around 1300 hrs, AMISOM troops managed to take a quick reaction repulsing Al-Shabaab militants who attempted to breach entry on their base.
About 50 heavily armed Al-Shabaab fighters attempted to attack to AMISOM logistics base in Mahaday town in Middle Shabelle region.
AMISOM scouts spotted them and alerted the other unit soldiers and several meters to the base, the militants were met with gun fire forcing them to retreat in different directions.
Corresponding reports from locals say the militants were seen carrying several bodies of their fellow fighters in their pickups.
