Security forces carried out an offensive in Somalia’s northeastern region of Puntland where the forces successfully destroyed a base belonging to Al-Shabaab terrorist group.
Puntland Security Forces (PSF) carried out the raid on Monday evening against Al-Qaeda linked Al-Shabaab’s base in Elmadow Mountain located southwest of Bosaso town.
The forces inflicted heavy losses including deaths and injuries to the Islamists Al-Shabaab fighters responsible for sporadic civilian attacks in the region. However, the exact casualties of the raid were not yet confirmed but more than a dozen reportedly killed and assortment of weaponry seized.
