Syrian Army using artillery and missile units launched heavy shelling against the movements of Al-Qaeda’s branch in Syria, the Al-Nusra Front. The terrorist group is also known as Fatah al-Sham Front or the Levant Liberation Board.
The shelling took place in Southern Hama killing a number of Nusra Front terrorists and injuring several others. Syrian military reports indicate the shelling also destroyed their military equipment.
The army's artillery and missile units carried out a preemptive move and pounded badly the movements and gathering centers of Al-Nusra terrorists that were getting ready to attack pro-government forces' positions near the village of al-Zareh and the thermal power plant from their positions in Hirbnafsa.
Earlier military reports showed that the Syrian army troops engaged in fierce clashes with terrorists in al-Qaboun district and managed to drive them out of 40 residential complexes.
