Thursday 2/3/2017 morning, armed gunmen reportedly stormed into a school in Dadaab and kidnapped two teachers.
Police reports indicate that the heavily armed men stormed in Al-Huda School in Hagadera, Dadaab complex at around 1.00 am.
NEP Regional Coordinator Mohamed Saleh, the two kidnapped two teachers who are said to be non-locals.
Security forces responded to the raid and rescued four other teachers hiding in the school compound then launched an operation aimed at rescuing the two teachers.
The police suspect that the kidnappers may have tried to flee over the Somali border and are focusing their resources on sealing off potential exit points.
In the same Hagadera refugee camp in Dadaab, Garissa County, a teacher was kidnapped in October 2015 by suspected members of the Somali-based militant group Al-Shabaab.
