A car bomb in southeast Mogadishu killed a school teacher and injured two other passerby on Wednesday 1/3/2017.
Corresponding reports from residents say a loud explosion at around noon was heard outside Bo’ale market. Remnants of the burn out vehicle were found outside.
The sole casualty from the car bombing was identified as Adan Goomey, a school teacher who taught English at Halgan School. Two other passersby were also injured in the explosion.
Other reports indicate that Goomey also worked with NISA in Dharkenley district and believed he doubled ad an intelligence officer thus becoming a target of the terror outfight, Al-Shabaab.
Initial probe gathered indicate that his car was fitted with a bomb under the front seat.
On Wednesday, a soldier was also shot dead in Dharkenley. On Monday, four soldiers were wounded in a car bomb explosion at a security checkpoint in Afgoye just outside out Mogadishu.
This is the latest in a string of car bomb attacks in Mogadishu and part of a wider pattern of targeted hits that have gripped the capital in recent weeks.
