Mogadishu, 20/2/2017, Latest reports from Somalia indicate that President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo travelled to Medina hospital where he visited bomb blast victims and announced a reward of USD$100,000 for information leading to bomb masterminds.
Earlier on Sunday, a truck fitted with bombs detonated at a busy intersection in Mogadishu’s Wadajir district, ripped through Kawa-Godey market just after Dhuhr prayers.
The VBIED killed at least 18 and wounded 35 innocent civilians, men, women and children going about their business.
According to Medina Hospital Director, Mohamed Yusuf, over 35 victims of the blast were brought to the hospital with 11 being treated for minor injuries and sent home. Three critically wounded died while the doctors fought to save their lives. Among the victims are several young children and women.
In the same resolve to defeat Al-Shabaab menace, the Director of the National Intelligence Agency (NISA), General Gaafow announced a separate USD$10,000 reward for information on assassination attempts.
The Islamist militant group, Al-Shabaab claimed responsibility of the heinous attack that left innocent Somalis killed, again clearing any doubt hat terrorists have no religion.
