Nigerian Police has discovered a suspected Boko Haram sleeper cell in Kano State.
Police following on intelligence conducted a joint operation which involved Nigerian Securities and Civil Defence Corps, Hisbah and local vigilantes in the State.
Reports indicate that locals were the ones who raised alarm citing influx of insurgents demanding food and money from them.
During the raid 53 Boko Haram suspects were arrested according to spokesperson of the police in the state, DSP Magaji Musa Majiya.
840 other people arrested across several hide outs within the city.
The police report say the Boko Haram suspects are undergoing interrogation for more leads into their operations and future plans.
